Education and Early Career

Ms. Ortega earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1992, where she contributed as an editor of the prestigious Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with Honors, from the University of Florida, specializing in Finance. During her time at the University of Florida, Ms. Ortega was an active student leader, serving as a councilman on the Business Administration College Student Council and chairing the Conduct Board. She was also recognized as the Outstanding Minority Student Scholar in 1989.

Starting her legal career at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, one of Florida’s largest corporate law firms, Ms. Ortega gained valuable experience managing complex, high-value property transactions for major clients. She later continued her career at Shutts & Bowen LLP, Miami’s oldest law firm, where she represented institutional clients in significant real estate transactions.

Ms. Ortega provides comprehensive legal support to developers and investors, assisting in the acquisition, development, operation, and sale of real estate projects, including condominiums and homeowner associations. She is dedicated to addressing the unique concerns of each developer, ensuring the success of their projects.

Foreign Investors in Real Estate

Ms. Ortega specializes in advising foreign investors on their Florida real estate investments.

Financial Institutions

She represents both domestic and international financial institutions, as well as private lenders, in a wide variety of real estate loan transactions, including construction loans, mortgage loans, loan modifications, and more.

Landlords and Tenants

Aileen advises landlords and tenants in negotiating commercial leases, including those for shopping centers and Class A office buildings. She also drafts standardized lease agreements for property managers.

Sellers and Purchasers of Real Estate

Ms. Ortega represents both buyers and sellers in all aspects of real estate transactions, including financing and title insurance. Her affiliated title agency, Cambridge Title Corp. is an agent for leading title insurance companies, including Chicago Title, Fidelity, WFG, First American and Doma, offering comprehensive title insurance solutions for owners and lenders.

Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Ortega is a valued member of the community. She actively supports fundraising efforts for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and is an active member of the Coral Gables Women’s Club, serving the local community since 1926.

Education and Early Career

Ms. Larrea earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1992, where she served as President of the Latin American Law Students Association and founded the Street Law Clinic, a program that later secured federal funding. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in 1989.

Beginning her legal career at prestigious global firms focusing on complex real estate and corporate matters, specializing in transactions involving European clients, institutional clients, individual developers, and investors in a wide range of real estate transactions.

Comprehensive Real Estate Law Expertise

Throughout her career, Ms. Larrea has developed a wide-ranging real estate practice, including expertise in joint ventures, construction and permanent lending, and complex real estate transactions. Her experience spans every stage of the development process, from land acquisition to project completion and property sales. Ms. Larrea is adept at structuring transactions involving various legal entities, including general and limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and foreign entities. She has represented numerous foreign entities in the U.S., conducting due diligence, organizing closings, and providing legal opinions on real estate and corporate matters.

Community Involvement and Languages

Fluent in Spanish and Italian, and conversational in French, Ms. Larrea brings a global perspective to her practice. Currently, Ms. Larrea serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Florida International University College of Law, contributing her wealth of knowledge to the next generation of legal professionals, and is a member of the National Association of Professional Women.

Yaima Garcia graduated with a B.A. in Spanish Arts and Letters from the University of Havana in 1988. For more than 20 years she worked in publishing as an editor, for books focused on arts, literature, & movies. In 2009 she immigrated to the United States, and in 2013 she joined Larrea and Ortega, and is also in charge of our Spanish language outreach.

Ken has been in the title/real estate industry for over 30 years handling all aspects of real estate transactions from beginning to end. He graduated from UMass-Dartmouth with honors with a B.A. in Political Science and was part of the inaugural ABA approved paralegal certificate program at Bentley College in Waltham MA.. He is a communicant of St. John Neumann Catholic Church where he currently serves as the Lead Usher of the Special Events Ministry.
